Tara my sisters said that my mother Biji, with me inside her, were probably the reason all of us got out of Lahore alive. Reading you tell the tale so well is how real history, honest history, passes on down generations.

I never knew you had the same urges as I did ... about interviewing family to understand our history ... as you say ... to make sense of us.

So glad you pursued that urge.

If you haven't already, please do read a book called Remnants of a Separation by Aanchal Malhotra ... this young lady actually accomplished this ... even to the extend of traveling to Pakistan to interview some people ready to talk about their partition and refugee experiences.
